Don’t Let Lightening Strike You

If you hear thunder or see lightening, go inside. That is the best advice.

But if you do find yourself in a lightening storm here at SERVPRO of North Highlands / Rio Linda we want you to be safe. Many lightening strikes happen when people are exposed outdoors in a large open area or next to a tall object like metal pole, streetlight or tall tree.

What to do if you are in a lightning storm:

• Get into the nearest building
• Get into a car and make sure all windows are up
• If no shelter is available; get as low to the ground as you can (crouch), put something under you to insulate you from the ground such as foam or insulated jacket.
