What is a Storm?

As time has gone on the way SERVPRO defines a storm has evolved.
Originally STORM was used as a rallying call to all SERVPROs to help in areas where more than just the local franchises were needed to help everyone that was affected. These events included massive rainstorms, hurricanes, and flash floods.
However, those aren't the only natural disasters that happen in our world.
This massive network of hundreds of franchises willing to travel became a saving grace to those affected by all kinds of catastrophic events. Wildfires, sudden widespread freezing temperatures, even earthquakes suddenly became part of this movement.
That is STORM to SERVPRO it is the first name we gave it and it is the name that stuck.
In every disaster there is overwhelming emotions. We have to try our best to smile through the worst and work toward better days together. All in all we must never lose our hope, even in the most trying of times.
With the recent wildfires that have caused havoc throughout California it is easy to get caught up in all the pain and hardship, but we have to work together to lift emotions. Smile even though it hurts, focus on the positives of the future instead of dwelling on the negatives of the past, if you need help don't be afraid to tell someone, and never lose your hope.
This goes out to all of the families that have been affected by the California wildfires. You have the strength to get through this, believe in yourselves, your family, and your friends.
